An additional, highly effective tool for your therapeutic toolkit: mapping, formulation and practical application, learned alongside your current work.
We all know practitioners who see people with complex needs who show little change, and the limited funded-session frameworks many of us work within can feel inadequate.
This is where CAT skills training comes in. Think of it as an additional, highly effective tool in your therapeutic toolkit. When used in short-term care, Cognitive Analytic Therapy has been shown to improve people’s outcomes — especially when people want a choice and aren’t improving through other therapies.
Over six months you’ll deepen your skills in mapping, formulation through a relational lens, and practical application you can use right away.
You’ll develop the core skill of building CAT-informed formulations in ways that support understanding, compassionate reflection and change. By the end, you’ll be able to:
Over 12 hours of pre-recorded learning, including instructional videos demonstrating CAT concepts: how to begin a map and collaboratively formulate patterns. Learn the instructional parts in your own time.
12 × 2-hour live online workshops, held fortnightly over six months. Consolidate your learning through real mapping practice and discussion, all recorded so you can catch up.
One individual 1.5-hour CAT mapping session booked directly with Lee by email, plus an online platform to share maps and reflections with the group between sessions.
